Sara Bugna, Program Coordinator

Our Program Coordinator, Sara Bugna, was recently named Employee of the Year at Danville Services of Nevada. So, it goes without saying that Sara brings a lot to the team. We offer up this interview with Sara in hopes that you too can see how great she is.

Q. Where were you born?
A. Pueblo Colorado.

Q. Tell me a little about your family...
A. I have a beautiful baby girl named Olive and a wonderful supportive husband. I am the youngest of nine children (five brothers and three sisters). My parents share the same birthday and are the same age, they have been married for over 50 years.

Q. When you were a little one, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A. I wanted to own a candy factory like Willy Wonka.

Q. What was your very first job?
A. I worked at Orange Julius at the Pueblo Mall as part of a program through the high school I attended.

Q. If you moved from another state/country, what drew you to NV?
A. I moved for a warmer climate and I have family up here. Change is a good thing it allows growth--mentally and spiritually.

Q. How did you find Danville?

A. In the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Q. Tell me something you remember from your very first day of work at Danville.
A. Excitement. The start of a new job in a new city.

Q. How would you say others describe your personality?
A. Strong, firm and fair with humorous undertones.

Q. You have been awarded Danville’s prestigious “Employee of the Year Award”. Have you ever won anything like this before?
A. The companies I worked for in the past did not offer such prestigious awards.

Q. What was your first reaction when you found out you were Employee of the Year?
A. I felt honored, surprised and grateful. I think most people thought I knew but I had no idea!

Q. What motivates you to work so hard?
A. The individuals we support, and always trying to strive to meet Danville's mission and philosophy.

Q. Have you had other positions at Danville?
A. I used to be the Residential Coordinator over two homes.

Q. Name something you have learned from anyone associated with Danville that you will cherish forever.
A. I’ve learned to always try hard and raise the bar fpr both the staff and the individuals I work with.

Q. To summarize, tell us what Danville means to you and what you mean to Danville.
A. Danville means to me: Endless possibilities for the individuals we serve, the sky is the limit.

Q. Where will you hang your award?
A. In my home office.

Q. What will/did you do with your monetary gift?
A. I will be using my gift to go on a surprise visit to Colorado to see my family whom I miss very much.
